Had the opportunity to fish with Matthew of Mt.Yonder on the French Broad in Asheville, NC! We had a great time, we were successful with 9 smallmouth on a full float trip. Matthew provided great new tips and instruction for smallmouth on the fly & new tactics to apply to other species as well, it was as a memorable day on the water. Had a great time with Mt. Yonder! Matthew was very knowledgeable and helpful to two beginners. We learned several different set ups, various ways to cast, what to look for in the water, how to spot fish, and more. Thanks to Matthew and Mt. Yonder, I caught my first trout! I will definitely be booking more trips with Mt. Yonder. Can’t recommend it enough!

Today was the first day that myself, my cousin, my 5 year old and 10 year sons have ever been fly fishing. Matthew and Scottie made it very easy and fun for all of us. Not only were they very knowledgeable(teaching the kids about different things in real time) they were also very polite and just as happy as we were when we got a bite. Their passion for their craft shows in every aspect from the booking up until you leave to go home. I would definitely recommend this to any family that has never been fly fishing before.
