Matthew Carter :: Walhalla, SC
Raconteur, musician, photographer, and former Orvis fishing manager. Easily excited by fish, Matthew is the co-owner and lead guide for Mt. Yonder Fly Fishing. He loves teaching new anglers and specializes in trout, with a soft spot for smallmouth bass.
Matthew lives with his wife, Carla, their 19-year-old daughter Scout, 7-year-old son Charlie, and Australian Shepherd, Remy.

Carla Carter :: Walhalla, SC
While Carla doesn’t guide, she’s an integral part of Mt. Yonder. As co-owner, she handlesgraphic design,marketing, andevent coordination, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She’s a taco connoisseur with a love forThe A-Team,Dukes of Hazzard, andBaywatch. When time allows, she enjoys fishing and being a welcoming presence for the Mt. Yonder community.

Davis Voorhees :: Boone, NC
Davis guides creeks and rivers around Boone, NC, in search of trout and smallmouth bass. He can also guide near Asheville with advance notice. A South Carolina native with a love for saltwater fishing, Davis brings local expertise and a friendly attitude to every trip.
Perfect for: Appalachian State fans looking for a fellow Mountaineer to fish with or anyone seeking a mix of expertise and fun.

Caleb Simmons :: Canton, NC
Caleb has over 12 years of fly fishing experience and excels in helping anglers catch their first fish on the fly. He loves chasing native brook trout in high-elevation creeks and creates unforgettable adventures in Western NC.

Joshua honed his skills on North Carolina’s pristine blue lines and loves sharing the joy of fly fishing with others. Known for his friendly nature, he creates a welcoming environment on the water.

Scott Keener :: Columbia, SC
Based in Columbia, SC, Scott is passionate about native fish conservation and warm water adventures. He’s your go-to guide for completing the SC bass slam on the fly. He chases the striper run, largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass and his absolute favorite, SC's native redeye bass, the Bartram's bass.
Scott serves as the Chair of the SC chapter of the Native Fish Coalition.
